It is in the heart of the green hills of Drumlin in County Down that the Hinch Distillery was born. Its name is taken from "Ballynahinch" meaning "island town" in Gaelic. County Down has a long tradition of distilling. From the end of the 18th to the beginning of the 20th century, it had 7 whiskey distilleries. Hinch inaugurated its own infrastructure in 2020, the distillery is inspired by the Irish traditions of distillation over the centuries.
