About the event
The wines showcasing are from Al di là del Fiume, a small two-hectare plot of vines nestled in Emilia Romagna, but is part of a farm dubbed ‘Danila Mongardi’ which is so much more than just a vineyard. Danila and Adriano Zago have managed to create their biodynamic paradise, a farm that advocates the passion between people and the power of the earth – and as such have created a social farming model. The vines are farmed biodynamically, spend time in Tuscan terracotta amphora and see absolutely no additions, and as such express the full ethos behind Danila and Adriano’s passion for biodynamic.Â
The evening will be hosted by Lilly Heenan.
2021 Al di là del Fiume Zirudela Albana
Zirudéla is a natural orange wine crafted by Al Di La´ Del Fiume, in the Emilia-Romagna region in Italy. This white wine is made with Grechetto, Albana and Montuni grapes. This orange wine is tangy, with notes of mandarin, herbal tea and preserved lemon.
2021 Al di là del Fiume Fricando Albana
This orange wine from Emilia Romagna biodynamicists Al di la del Fiume is absolutely delicious and a bit terrifying! It's made from 100% Albana grapes fermented on skins in Amphora for 3 months, which helps balance out the natural sweetness of the wine. The wine is textural and succulently fruited, typical of Albana.
2021 Al di là del Fiume Saramat Barbera
The wine is a fresh and fragrant red, with a deep ruby color and violet reflections. It has a dense appearance and an intense and complex aroma, including wild berries, blackberry, currants, and grenadine, as well as fresh and mineral notes.
2021 Al di là del Fiume Dagamo Albana
Dagamo is the most esteemed wine made in the winery. 100% Barbera from the oldest parcel of vines. The grapes macerate on skins for 3 months in milanese terracotta amphora, giving the wine depth, elegance and concentration.
