Nestled amidst the rolling hills of Barbaresco, near the meandering Tanaro River, lies the Luigi Giordano estate. Founded in the 1930s by Giovanni Giordano, the winery has witnessed the evolution of the Italian wine world. While the family initially sold their grapes, Giovanni's son, Luigi, recognised the unique potential of their terroir and embarked on a journey of quality winemaking in 1960. This pioneering spirit paved the way for many other Barbaresco producers.
Today, Luigi Giordano stands as a fifth-generation family winery, proudly cultivating vineyards in some of the most prestigious crus in the region, including Asili, Montestefano, and Cavanna. The Cavanna cru, a single-vineyard treasure exclusively owned by the estate, exemplifies Luigi Giordano's philosophy of minimal intervention and showcases the unique character of the land.
Matteo Rocca, Luigi's grandson, carries on the family tradition with a deep respect for his grandfather's elegant and time-honored approach. The estate focuses on cultivating traditional varieties like Nebbiolo, the heart of Barbaresco, alongside Dolcetto, Barbera, Freisa, and the aromatic Arneis, a popular white grape of Piedmont.
Matteo adheres to traditional winemaking techniques, including extended maceration on the skins and aging in large oak barrels. These methods allow the wines to develop complexity and depth, reflecting the unique terroir of each vineyard.

LUIGI GIORDANO VINO ROSSO
A Nebbiolo dominant blend, this wine is light, lithe and refreshing. It’s made of a super unique blend including 20% Roero Arneis, which adds aromatics and lift to the wine, softening the tannins. This brilliantly easy-drinking, chillable red, is translucent ruby in the glass, filled with ripe strawberry, red cherry, fleshy peach characters, and dried rose petals, the Nebbiolo signature feature.
