Woodlawn Tasmania, led by winemaker Ricky Evans, offers a diverse range of wines reflecting the unique character of the region. You'll find the Two Tonne Tasmania range, showcasing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Riesling from the Tamar Valley. For something a bit different, there's Havilah, featuring exciting wines from lesser-known varieties like Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris. And for the discerning palate, Ricky crafts exquisite small-batch single-vineyard Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays.
Ricky is a true pioneer in the Tasmanian wine scene. His journey began in 2013 with a remarkable achievement: securing two tonnes of premium Pinot Noir from the coveted Rosevears vineyard. This was a breakthrough, as top-quality Tasmanian Pinot Noir is highly sought after.
Driven by a desire to showcase the unique terroirs of the region, Ricky has been meticulously crafting small-batch wines from exceptional vineyards across Tasmania. He's also focused on cultivating his own top-tier vineyard, Woodlawn, located on the historic Evans family farm in the Tamar Valley. This stunning site, with its free-draining soils near the river, now produces the backbone of his TMV range of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Always pushing boundaries, Ricky has recently embarked on an exciting new chapter: producing single-site wines. 2021 was a stellar year for Tasmanian fruit, and Ricky selected two exceptional vineyards: Waverley Vineyard, known for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and Three Wishes Vineyard, renowned for its warm, sunny location. These wines are produced in limited quantities and showcase the true potential of Tasmanian terroir.
Woodlawn Tasmania is a name to watch. Ricky Evans is a talented winemaker with a deep respect for the land, and his wines are a true reflection of the unique character of the Tamar Valley.

TWO TONNE TASMANIA 'EST' PINOT NOIR - FREYCINET COAST TAS
From one site again in 2024. All whole berry here, the tannin is more rugged than the other regions, a more graphite thing we seem to see. On the skins for about a week, pressed off nice and warm to finish in oak - displays a more structured style – bold and brave, savoury and soil driven. It will benefit with a couple years in the cellar.
Cellar 1-5 years
