Arianna Occhipinti's passion for white wines led her to the Santa Margherita vineyard in 2016, where she cultivates Grillo, a white grape with a robust personality, from the limestone-rich soils of the Iblei Mounts.

Known for its aromatic intensity that blends citrus, spicy vegetal notes, and white flowers, Grillo offers a perfect balance of alcohol and acidity, characterised by its savoury taste. A 48-hour maceration is followed by spontaneous fermentation in concrete and Austrian oak barrels, aging for 12 months.

Situated at 490 meters above sea level, surrounded by lush pine, oak forests, and olive groves, the vineyard is a Mediterranean paradise that profoundly influences the wine’s profile. Grillo, a key Sicilian grape and a cross between Cataratto and Zibibbo (Muscat of Alexandria), may be lesser-known but is historically used in Marsala wine. SM Vino di Contrada Sicilia Bianco IGT
